Caption: With all three F40PH locomotives assigned to a full-length Canyon Tour Train for the fall colour season, the regular passenger train to Hearst rates a standard cab CN GP38-2. In a way, this is how this train should be, even if the details are a little off. A typical 1980s consist was an AC GP38-2, steam generator car, baggage and coach. This is essentially the same, but with different colours and an electrical power generator car instead of a steam heater car.
For the last couple of years the regular train has left directly from the former ACR yard and shops area at Steelton yard instead of the passenger station downtown. A passenger loading and parking area is established near the yard entrance.
