Caption: Hard to believe this is almost four years ago, we find CN's management "training train" or "scab train" westbound at Bayview. At the time, the train was running with about 80 cars IIRC, some loaded ballast cars to give the train a more accurate weight compared to regular freights and the majority of the train empty centrebeams. Most trains ran from Mac yard to Paris and return, but some later trains only ran to Bayview and back. I believe the trains ran for about two years (might have been three?), with the consist changing from time to time (later empty coil cars were used); often, there were two turns to Paris in one day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The trains proved their worth when CN conductors went on strike, and management kept the wheels rolling on most freights.
