Caption: The final run. On a gorgeous early fall day, CSX local D924 heads west out of Dresden after running around it's train so he can switch Tupperville and proceed back north to Sarnia. This will be the last train over these rails, and service to Wallaceburg is said to cease before October 2 2013. Ownership of the line will be changing hands from CSX to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent on October 3, and if a shortline operator isn't found before that time, these rails face a very uncertain future. A deal with CANDO fell through during the summer, although there are a couple of other contenders interested in operating the line, but if C-K cannot close on a deal before the deadline, CP (who has an agreement with C-K to hold possession of the rails) has threatened to scrap the rail.
