"Quickie"

On the way home from some errand at Shoppers' World otherwise too mundane to be memorable, a probable squawk out of the VX150 telling us CN 399 was approaching necessitated a pit stop behind our favourite deserted big box plaza photo spot off Kennedy Road. At the time the 3rd track of CN's Halton Sub had not been laid, and the area of "old Peel" was nice and wide open for decent train shots (even if the light was straight down the track at this time of day). It almost made the horrible stench from the nearby asphalt shingle plant tolerable.

But anyway: Our short 399, the tail end of which can be seen in the distance under the Highway 410 overpass, is dodging the evening GO trains while making a break for freedom at CN Silver (Georgetown) and beyond. Nearly new at the time CN SD70M-2 8020 is on point, with NS "Catfish" C40-9W 9555 reppin' the FPON content that made "quickies" like this more "I wonder what interesting foreign thing will turn up" rather than today's "I wonder what boring CN thing will be on it", to paraphrase a friend.
