SRY 128 sits in Wellcox yard on the Esquimalt & Nanaimo railway while its counterpart GP9 119 is working the parksville turn. The past few years have been turbulent for the E&N as in 2011 VIA service was suspened due to tie conditions. SRY & the Island corridor foundation who owns the line secured the funding for the infastructure upgrades. Thes funds were secured but can only be accesed once VIA  agrees to bring back service. The ICF & SRY are currenly negotiating a new service plan for vancouver island.
