Matt, nice work – what’s the reasoning behind the 10 MPH on the stack train?
That is a question that could be better answered by CP lol. 103 and 104 were both using the north line at this time, west of Saskatoon the track was pretty lousy, there was some that was good for 20-25mph but there were also a lot of 10′s. I hear it has improved a lot since I took this shot though.

Just wondering 2 things, what is the traffic like on the wilkie subdivision and does CP 104 and 103 use this line anymore?
I’m not sure if 103/104 currently use the Wilkie sub, even when this photo was taken they would flip/flop between the north line and the main line every six months or so.
Train frequency is pretty high these days with all the crude oil trains, they have installed lots of CWR and track speed is up to 40 in many spots.
I believe the Wilkie is 110 lb rail these days, but yeah sounds like it was pretty haggard not too long ago. Easier to play catch up on it than the Watrous, that’s for sure. Unless of course the Watrous is congested.
