Caption: An afternoon commute wouldn't be complete with a ride on a late 80's orange bilevel passenger car. Built by the Urban Transportation Development Corporation (previously by Hawker Siddeley, now Bombardier) in 1988/89, GO Transit 2337 is still racking up the miles in her near-original interior decor, seen here empty before departing Toronto Union Station on afternoon train #263 to Bramalea. The photographer notes he would then take a seat near the front on the right, and enjoy the 35 minute trip home.
Fast forward a number of years, and an ongoing rebuilding/refurbishing program has updated most of GO Transits' older cars such as 2337 to a more modern look, with all of the screamin' orange panels and light blue vinyl seats replaced with subtle grey and deep blue fabric.
