The froth runs strong as the crowd attending the 18th annual Bayview Meet watch as an eastbound passes under the bridge.
The 19th annual CNET Bayview Meet occurs on Saturday June 22 2013 at the Royal Botanical Gardens Laking Garden pedestrian bridge. Come out and meet many of the people who visit, contribute to and run Railpictures.ca. Everyone is welcome, and an award (in spirit) is offered to those that come from furthest away to the event.
For anyone new - the first group of people usually show up for 0500 and stay most of the daylight hours. Be sure to sign the guestbook when you arrive. Some brave souls pull a 24 hour event starting at 0001 and log all trains that pass. Parking is free and no admission is required unless you plan to enter the RBG. Washrooms and water facilities are available just across the bridge. There is a traditional lunchtime BBQ - it would be appreciated if you could bring sides/snacks for BBQ or extra drinks and water. Otherwise, there is lots of food and coffee a few KM east on Plains Rd in Burlington.
