Cranes at that time would have been operating with a Conductor responsible for the authority to be on the main track.
Re signals, I forget exactly when the new CTC signals went in here, but I don’t think there were any ABS signals at this spot before the installation of CTC, and I suspect that the intermediate CTC signals now near this spot would be just behind where the photographer is standing.
Galt and Windsor Subs. had ABS in steam era.
CTV was installed about 1982 when the Milton GO service started
