Caption: While all the interest earlier this year, had the light on the CASO's final days as the rail was removed. In 2002, silently reality slipped away from the once great speedway's east end. Admittedly, without a lot of hype or fanfare.
Used for the longest time, to store NCIX plastic pellet hoppers, the time had come. The final run to grab the hoppers so the rail could be removed. This was the run, a gloomy April day, no railfan hype, no fanfare. Just 2 CN GP's and a string of those hoppers. Appropriately 9606's class lights are on, normally for the end of a train, this time, the beginning of the end for the once great Canada Southern.

And here is a shot from the ‘other side’: http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=12435
It’s any wonder how long that side will last too… IGPC may be the only thing keeping it alive for now.
