Caption: This rather mundane, I guess you could say, image has long been a favourite of mine. Why? Because it is one of the very few I managed ground level with the old wooden "Aldershot" namesign before the area went under extensive change and became the big GO/VIA station and yard facility that it now is.
For this shot I parked over by the Aldershot Cold Storage building (now gone) on the east side of the Waterdown Road bridge, and walked eastward along the tracks. Wide open and a countryside setting, except for the Cooke Concrete block business out of sight to my right.
Forty-five years ago. And for once it actually seems that long ago.
CN 1326, 1319 and what looks like 71XX are coming off the siding with a cut of cars probably going to Hamilton.
