This overcast lighting very appropriately sets the mood for this shot of SOO 6033 as it passes Kipling GO Station. With fire damage to the right side, and a non-working ditchlight, this SD60 is bruised, battered and tired. This may very well be its last run ever. Chances are it will be rebuilt hosting CP colors, or if unlucky it'll be scrapped. Whatever its fate, this SOO will soon be no more.

With fire damage to the right side, and a non-working ditchlight, this SD60 is bruised, battered and tired. Having escaped the rebuild program, it is one of six original SOO SD60's left. How much longer they will last is unknown, but it surely can't be a long time. This particular SOO was probably heading back to Agincourt to get fixed up.

  1. Daniel – the rebuild program was cancelled so these will stick around a while longer… there are 6 left plus two in red.

  2. Ah I see. Thanks for the info. What do you suppose will be done about the fire damage on this unit? While its clearly still capable of operating, I’m skeptical if CP would want to fix the damage, nevermind keep it on the road.

  3. Daniel, if the unit is operating OK now, nothing. It’s clearly fire damage that predates April 12…
