The last time I stopped in South River was probably a good 20 years ago. Back then the town was still trying to raise money to fix up the old station, which was in sad shape. That day the rain let off long enough to get a few photos of the “Northlander” passing by. This trip there would be no “Northlander” and the only passenger car on CN 451 was a GO Transit car heading to North Bay for rebuilding. The station looked nice in its preserved state as CN 8848 north and train 451 passed at track speed.

  1. Very nicely done.

  2. Great picture Marcus, thanks for the update on the station, it looks very nice. Hopefully, if the provincial government will live up to its promise, this station maybe a passenger train stop once again. Thanks for sharing, John
