Caption: Since today is so dull and dreary I thought I'd post something black and white. It's May 20, 1990 and here is the NS westbound with SD40-2 #3298 running long hood forward as it hits the C&O diamond in Chatham on it's way from Buffalo to Windsor via St. Thomas. To the left of photo is the C&O Enginehouse and now, almost 25 years later, it, as well as the NS and CSX trains that used to cross here are gone. All in the name of 'progress' supposedly.....

Nice… I still haven’t seen a photo of ns on the csx sarnia sub!
Wish I could help Steve. They always seemed to be running up the C&O in the dark and when I did shoot them in the daylight, they were running CP power…. Hahhahahahhaa……..
CP did re-route a few trains over the CSX and CASO when derailments occurred west of Chatham.. the last was winter 2004/2005 give/take – memory getting a bit fuzzy on that. I went down to see them at night but someone stalled in the tunnel… and no one made it to Chatham by the time I left at 0100.
