Caption: Restored the previous year for Tour Tram service, TTC Peter Witt streetcar 2894 is seen travelling southbound on Spadina Avenue at Sullivan Street. Way off in the distance is the old Knox College building (1 Spadina Crescent) just past Spadina and College. Also note all the "Furs" signs, as this part of Toronto was known as the garment district.
At this time, regular transit service along Spadina Avenue was provided by the 77 Spadina bus (note the GMC New Look in the background), as the Spadina route was discontinued in the 1940's, and streetcar tracks had been abandoned north of College after the Harbord streetcar was discontinued in 1966. The track here remained intact between King and College Streets for short turns and such, and it eventually became part of the new 510 Spadina streetcar route introduced in the 90's.
