Quebec Northshore & Labrador SD40-2 #317, and sister #321, ready to depart Mai, Quebec with an 80 car loaded Arnaud ore train. Mai is merely a crew change point on the QNS&L, with bunk houses, kitchen, etc. We overnighted here while on a NARCOA motorcar run on the QNS&L, sleeping in bunk cars in the siding. Mai is literally in the middle of nowhere and venturing away from the site could prove disasterous for individuals with bears and such in the area. What I thought was interesting was the fact that I was shooting roster shots @ 6:00a.m. in the morning, being so far east and north in Quebec!!
