Three roads.
Eight trains on Sunday,
seven on Friday,
six on each of Monday to Thursday,
five on Saturday
and was just the passenger service circa 1976 through 1989.
In addition to the usual CN wide cab GP40's, freight included the occasional ONR unit train (ore pellets for Dofasco).

Via #9
...Algonquin Park (Via 15501) just cleared the Quetton Street crossing as the twelve car Via # 9 powered by 6507 – 6627- 6761 (FP9A – F9B – FPA4 ) departed CN Washago on time 15:30 August 5,1985.
.. Unexpectedly the crossing gates remained in the down position, then Via #10 with 6569 rolls into Washago one hour twenty minutes off schedule.

What's Interesting:
The ex CP Rail passenger equipment showed up 1979 when Via consolidated the transcontinental train into one daily.
#10 to service Orillia, Barrie, Newmarket and the St. Clair Avenue CN Newmarket Subdivision stations with the new day light service commencing June 1 1985, the first day light Via service on the Newmarket since 1980.
Via FP7A 6569 survives today as West Coast Railway #4069. The 6569 is ex Via 1425 exx Via 4069 exxx CP 4069 exxxx CP 1425 exxxxx CP 4069 (built GMDD October 1954).
The Washago Station remains on the old right of way alignment that was changed in the early 1960's when the highway #11 overpass was constructed.
The water tower was in town water service.

Great memories ! That open nose door gives us the hint that August 5, 1985 was one hot day. Not the safest way to “air condition” an F unit, but at least on the slower speed Bala Sub there was less risk for the crew than say on the Kingston Sub.
