Caption: One miserable grey day finds me up in Parry Sound. Thats just the way it goes....and in regards to the weather being a deterrent, as it is said about other things, "When ya gotta go, ya gotta go"........and so with the weather forecast "iffy" I left for The Sound anyway.
Too bad the best seems to be seen on the worst of days......in this image, the train has just set off a cut at Parry Sound's diminutive 'yard' before heading south (east on timetable) and the power is backing onto train for the run to Toronto. Seen, from the head end; CP 5519, CR 7793, CP 3073, 4715 and 4570. The old water tower on the hill has since been demolished and the yard is no longer. Trains just run thru. The station, preserved as a private business, is a hundred feet or so behind me on the right.

The “A” plate on the single aspect signal is a nice touch too.
Dreary day or not, Parry Sound was a cool place to ‘fan and this shot captures that sentiment. Really nice !
Nice big MLW and even the water tower is still there !!
