Caption: On a steamy hot July day I stopped by Merritton yard to see what was happening. Nothing. The air is thick, no breeze, and not the kind of day I wanted to hang around sweating. And besides, in the distance one can see the Welland Canal bridge is in the up position. Nice to see CN 1420 resting between jobs on the siding as perhaps the crew had taken a break for lunch; and because of that, I wandered down to the tracks for a photo. Glad I did. The 1420 is long gone from the area and the station burned down a few years after this shot was taken. As far as the 1420 goes, it had been remanufactured and renumbered from #1058 in 1989. Designated now as a GMDlu. It is still around...somewhere.

Arnold – Happy (Belated) Birthday
BD??? There was??? Dammit. I even missed the dancing girls.
A nice shot of your old stomping grounds. Nope won’t yield to temptation, maybe just ask him if there were any Old Buzzards at Merritton that day.
Odd that the green signal is given yet the bridge is up…
