Oh so CP ...

An EMD – MLW power mix

   Two 1963 built EMD's: Chessie GP30 #3022 and C&O #3004 aid MLW 1957 built RS-18 #8740 (the future #1804) on an eastbound,

   CP Rail #52 near Wolverton (?), November 3, 1979 Kodachrome by S.Danko

Perhaps someone in the know may confirm the location?

Chessie lived a scant 14 years: 1972 to 1986, disappearing into the CSX conglomerate – although we did get our fill of Chessie on CP throughout the eighties.

  1. What a Trio…very cool

  2. Looks like a couple of hundred feet east of the east road crossing at Wolverton where there is a double row of electric fencing to keep the “beasts” in their compound. Too many scrub trees along there now.

  3. This is great! Arnold it is very shootable still. Now that Wolverton is a yard this is a very common spot for fans to go waiting for something working the yard to peek out before they go west.

Before wolverton someome had to basically devide to try this angle as there was little reason to hang out here.. awesome

I probably go here once a year on average now.
