Northbound Canadian leaving Union approximately 1230; power VIA 6506, 6621 and 6636. Looking at this scene from almost 30 years ago with all the construction buzz, it is hard to believe that even today buildings are going up by the score. There always seems to be room for still another condo tower in the ever-changing skyline.

  1. The spur to the left that goes up the hill to Spadina following Front St, do remember what industry it went to? I remember seeing a switcher running up it back in the day.

  2. The spur went to the Canadian Pacific Express yards at Simcoe Street between Wellington and King. I recall there being a team track there too where steel was transloaded from gons to trucks. Nice shot Mr. M. You USED to go to Toronto for photos quite often.

  3. There is some information on the Old Time Trains website.
