No one is going to call this a great photo, but it is from a relatively unique location - from my apartment on Jasper Avenue (whose rent is probably astronomical compared to back in the depression of '86).
I had watched this train several times, but finally took the time from my studies and pulled my camera out.
The train has finished the stop at the station and is headed NE back to the mainline at East Junction. This loop track to the downtown dates back to when the CN was a series of RR's that came to Edmonton.

  1. Well, I sure would be pleased if I could see something other than my neighbours from my own place !! :o )

  2. It was a cool vantage point to shoot lightening over the downtown. There was a nice sheltered balcony that I wish I had used more often. I really enjoyed seeing the sky – something that I haven’t seen in decades because I have, since then lived in 1 or 2 story houses in treed suburban areas. That will change in a couple years as I move to rural Ohio, where we will build our retirement house in a 13 acre field.
