Cool shot, Arnold. I thought the Cayuga was the south track which became Brookfield (now Rusholme) Siding?
It was both.
From 1974 tt:
Ctc from robbins to feeder west. 2 tracks robbins to brookfield. 3 tracks brookfield to feeder east. 2 tracks feeder east to feeder west.
Ctc special features:
Three main tracks between brookfield and feeder east designated from the north as no1 no2 and no3. Track 1 intended for use by pc. Track 2 intended for joint use by pc/cn. Track 3 intended for use by cn. All three tracks can be controlled by cn and/or pc train dispatcher when neccessary.

I never knew that CN had running rights on the North track (or track 1 as you said). I always understood they only had running right on the middle, and south track and PC had running rights on the North and middle track.
According to 1977 Conrail track MTC Charts, CR maintained tracks 1 and 2 exclusivly and track 3 was wholley CN owned for MTC purposes.

Interesting history eh. What’s even more cool is that the majority of the traffic would have been American – Chessie and N&W with two passenger trains, the Niagara Rainbow (Amtrak over Caso) and Th&B Budds.
CN traffic would have been minimal as their mainline trains would have taken the Grimsby or the Dunnville over thru Canfield.
The TH&B Buddcars would have used the former CASO to Fort Erie no?
The reference to the CASO prior to the CN/CP takeover can be confusing. What Arnold is standing on would be the Conrail Mainline Chicago-Suspension Bridge (Canada Division). The TH&B Budd Cars used the tunnel and then ran via the CR Fort Erie Branch from Brookfield.

Curious: was the line from Suspension Bridge to Brookfield (Fort Erie sub in CP terms) CTC under Conrail?
Steven, from what I gather in my 1974 TT from the Canada Southern it was ABS with the acception between Feeder E and Brookfield.

According to CP 1987 timetable, the Fort Erie sub was CTC From “CP Pettit” to Brookfield, Pettit was mile 2.7 as per this TT.
