It’s still hard to believe how suddenly the SD40-2 was pushed to the side across the continent. That’s not to say they didn’t have many good years of service. In 2024 it’s very hard to find a locomotive in CP’s “Dual flag paint” here 5936 and a sister SD head through Meadowvale as they head for West Toronto after a few days of dropping rail along the Galt and Windsor subdivisions.
