In the final winter scene of this season, 244 proceeds downgrade toward Galt with the SOO 6027 in the lead to wye and return to Wolverton to lift 235 and return to London. Orrs Lake was helper territory in the steam days and continues to be a formidable adversary for westbounds to this day.

  1. Too bad I have not caught 6027 yet, and I have been out on the galt quite a few times but I only get the usual 8000 series GEs.

  2. Honestly, lately not even the SD60′s are making an appearance around here.. I don’t know where they ended up…

In the winter the power planners had DC (SD60)/AC (any GE) combos on trains to/from Buffalo….. then that stopped.

Just have to see what comes your way I guess! Give us an extra toot of the horn if you see us and I hope you find yourself in a photo here :)

  3. Nobody will believe me but CP is also getting rid of the AC4400CWs! a bunch are going into and are in storage and once i went railfanning at Dixie GO and only ONE train had an AC4400CW on it! that day there was 3 CPs…

  4. I doubt they’re “getting rid” of them. Probably sending a lot more for rebuild, but not off the roster.

  5. A crap ton of 9500 and 9600′s were indeed stored, and now being sent for rebuild. Some were also re-activated, as far as I know. Not sure how many are out now.. but I don’t hear much about SD60′s out this way these days…
