Caption: I think that this "City Switcher" job was not long for this world at this time. I don't remember hearing it on my radio again. Presumably, it worked the downtown yard, and the occasional business on the tracks from that yard to the mainline. That downtown yard had pretty much been de-commissioned at this time, and would soon be redeveloped.
The SW1200RS's worked that yard, and once it was gone, so were the SW's (for the most part). GMD-1's in all their wheel configurations would dominate the transfer and industrial siding jobs soon.
The track that can be seen at left is the east leg of the wye at Bretville Junction, where the Camrose Sub, from the south, joins the mainline (Wainwright Sub).
