Here’s the recently arrived TEE train (Trans-Europe Express) in the Don Valley, circa 1977 / 1978.

Arnold made the ultimate historical catch when he photographed it being delivered to Toronto’s Don Yard...

  1. Great catch!! So, after closing on 40 years since this thing came ashore, would you still think it is ugly? I do. Really regret not riding it. But it traveled from the Big Smoke to the Big Nothing and back, and I just never had a reason.

  2. The Dutch cared enough to ship a set back and preserve it.. :)

  3. Great shot. Was this the only TEE set used on the Northlander, and, if any are preserved, where is it?

  4. There were 4 or so sets of TEEs imported JP. They all had the power unit replaced with a modified FP7. I think there’s still one set rusting away at North Bay, and one set was sent back overseas for preservation (no power cars though, they were all scrapped)
