Caption: Here is a view looking S/W of the old all-purpose train station (aka: Old Drafty)in Hearst. The town was founded when the National Transcontinental pushed thru in 1913; subsequently the line became CN. Lot of space in this building on account the agent and others lived here, made a lot more sense than trying to commute from elsewhere in the bitter winters. MoW housed here. Express deliveries stored here. Town 'meeting place' at one time. The old building eventually outlived its' usefulness; when I visited here in 1985 the only "service" was a bus connection to Kap, and to the best of my knowledge this building is now long gone, replaced by that mini-sta on the right.
