Caption: GO Transit GP40TC 606 brings up the rear of train 905, the 0700 departure from Pickering to Oakville, passing the old Exhibition station, located between Dufferin Street and Jameson Avenue. This station, only consisting of two platforms, was opened in 1912 to serve the annual Canadian National Exhibition at the nearby Exhibition grounds, replacing an earlier station nearby. It continued to see use until 1968, when the new Exhibition GO station was opened east of Dufferin Street, on the site of the original Exhibition station. These platforms would see one more bit of service foir the 1979 CNE due to crowding at Exhibition GO, with this location being temporarily named "Dufferin Gates." Since then, the old platforms have remained abandoned and overgrown, with stairs to Dufferin Street fenced off.

Look at all that jointed rail – with a 90 mph speed limit too.
