Caption: Galt yard was once an interesting place to visit. It was here that CP often stored power for the locals serving not just Toyota but the entire line up to Kitchener. The late 1990's found CP very power hungry leasing numerous GP40's and SD40's. While CP did end up purchasing a group of former Guilford/B&M GP40's from Helm leasing, the 517 was not one of them. Starting life as Boston & Maine 313, the unit is seen coupled to HLCX 4302, formerly NYC 3095. The two units would spend the majority of their time on CP working locals and turn jobs before eventually being returned. As for Galt yard today, it is a shadow of its former self. Most of the yard tracks have been removed along with the motive power storage track. Today local power is stored in the new Wolverton yard to the west.

What a great trip down memory lane, I sure miss the rent-a-wreck days on CP.
