Caption: Extra flags flying, TH&B train TF-2, better known as the Starlite, passes through Bayview Junction with a pair of CPR RS3s up front. Behind the power two freshly painted CPR boxcars head up the freight consist.
CPR 8433, built by MLW in 1954, would be chop-nosed in January 1979 and retired December 1982 for scrapping at Angus Shops. CPR 8453, built by MLW in 1954, would be wrecked near Bedell, ON on the Winchester Sub in January 1974.

@Brundle: Good eye. Unfortunately I can’t get a clear number series off the car.
This train was known as the Starlight (note correct spelling) however, since it operated on the CNR any orders etc. would be addressed to Extra CP 8433 West.
I’ve seen both spellings, the “slang” one more common. So would the FT-1/TF-2 symbol take effect upon reaching TH&B rails? The extra flags would still be up.
FT-1/TF-2 are US style designations and since TH&B was controlled by NYC it may have been something they used however such abbreviations are Marketing & Sales not Operating Dept. designations.
Train to/from Hamilton only operated 1.7 miles on CPR Hamilton Jct. to Main Street. Then it was THB rules and timetable to Aberdeen Yard or Kinnear Yard.
CPR typically operated three trains a day. Kinnear 12.01 AM to Kinnear. Ham c.10.00 am and Starlight 7.30 PM both to Aberdeen Yard.
I worked most of my 40 years with CPR at Lambton Yard including Engine dispatching and Crew dispatching, so 5 days per week I wrote these trains on corresponding forms. I can assure you of the correct spelling for Starlight (and Moonlite) and NOBODY would DARE misspell either!

Ha! Ha! Looks like the joke is on me. I got it ass backwards. I looked up some old papers. It WAS Starlite and the other one (Orangeville-Lambton & return) was Moonlight.
I wonder if this was a George Roe picture.I have a few taken in the area.
