Railway operations on the Cape Breton section of the CB&CNSR were discontinued 2015.
CN 2027 retired April 29, 1993; CN 2021 retired July 30, 1992 with the trucks recycled to GE to Dash 8's in the 2430-2454 series per Branchline Mar/Apr 21; CN 2324 retired by 1998 per Trackside Guide.

Here’s hoping the Province and other folks can get the railway back off the ground – no sense in a port project in Sydney without a railway! last chance too.
Great image Steve! Lengthy trains were the norm back then in both Cape Breton and Newfoundland. You captured so much in that trip to the East Coast in 1982. – Ken
