Back in the days before GE seemed to rule CN’s roster. CN original group of Dash-9’s was high on my list of units to catch in the lead. Today they still are. There is something about their unique cabs that made them likeable, not to mention them being the only Post Dash-8’s to carry the CN North America paint. Leader 2517 is also unique as it wears a modified version of this paint complete with the CN website. Here sisters 2517 and 2511 lead train 275 past the sweeping curve at mile 30.

  1. Nice catch. It’s always great to get a pair of these on a train. I just wish the paint they used on the cab held up better than it did because they sure do not photograph very well anymore!
