Another interesting fact is this curved bridge - was built by the Galt, Preston and Hespeler railway in 1896 is largely unchanged today, with exception to the fairly recent addition of a walkway and handrails. And where I'm standing? In 1896, imagine a switch where the first autorack is, and a second wooden rail bridge traversing straight towards me. Freight trains took the bypass as you see here, and passenger trains ran right down King St, until 1937, when everything switched to the freight line - essentially the present day CPR Waterloo subdivision as it is known today.
