A little winter humour. The clean up crew are making the most of a frustrating day so far after being called out to clear the filled in crossing and switch in front of the old TH&B station in Brantford. The line beyond here was taken out of service when CN convinced the last on line customer to switch to trucks. This day 580 was forced to run around its train here thanks to problems with the switch at the other end of the line. This was most likely the last time a train passed here before this end of the line was abandoned. Today sadly only the old boarded up station remains and another section of interesting rails are gone from Brantford.

  1. Do our recall if the crossing signals at both of those crossings activated at all, or did the crew have to flag the crossings?

  2. And there was a yard at the right. All gone. :(

  3. 5 crew members. How many men does it take to change a light bulb? ;)

  4. Yes crossing was still working. They even drove a back hoe in that day to clear the crossing. Expensive move just to run around the train.

  5. Brad: How many does it take to change a lightbulb? Got to RP photo #17705 and get your answer. :o )

  6. There are only 2 crew members outside and the engineman in the cab. The other happy fellas are section forces. Ya can always tell by the hardhats :-)
