During the winter of 2021/22 the Yorkton subdivision running from Melville SK to Canora SK had constant problems with snow. With the entire area suffering from heavy snowfall, the Yorkton sub is notorious for drifts because of the north-south operation in open prairie flatland. BCOL 4646 heads south toward Melville only hours after 583 went north with GECX 2029 in the lead. In the short time the drifts completely refilled making an enjoyable trip,

CN 2508 leads M313 towards saskatoon hitting snow drifts on its way west after an overnight snowstorm and high winds in the morning.

IC 2466 leads Q102 towards Kamloops on the Ashcroft subdivision. The train would later meet a westbound coal train at Savona BC and continue to Kamloops where a new crew would take it further east

BCOL 4644 leads Q102 through Watrous SK on the Watrous subdivision passing one of several remaining elevators on the Sub. Just two days later BCOL 4642 would also lead a train east passing this elevator.

After sitting in the hole for a couple of hours CN 3069 on the point of Q117 makes the final leap into Rivers for a crew change. Although this attempt at the WC scheme isn't particularly anyone's favorite I must say it's pretty cool to see anything at all.

Grants Cut in Rivers Manitoba is a popular spot among train enthusiasts and non-train enthusiasts. The opportunity to shoot a BCOL C44-9W in that location was not being passed up. M312 Arrived in Rivers very early in the morning and was rounding the corner at the very first bit of light the sun was providing.

CN recently has painted 5 or 6 depending on if you count the one with regular CN paint, and right after they arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba CN 3008 was put on an oil train on the PNL (Prairie North Line) I took no chances in deciding whether or not to see it. I had this shot in mind but have never shot in this location before. It was slightly rushed but turned out well in my opinion.
