My name is Matthew Tozier and I live in the Niagara Region, I mainly shoot CN on the Grimsby and Stamford Subdivisions and occasionally hit up the Dundas or Halton if the weather's right. Favourite locomotive would definitely have to be the EMD SD90MAC.

CN 434 rolls up the Halton Sub towards Lower Base Line south of Milton with a duo of "Draper Taper" Dash 8-40CMs #2430 upfront and #2425 trailing. Tagging along is a dead GP9RM #7230 coming up from Sarnia. The train in the background was a westbound auto train led by another pair of Dash 8s, but of the ex ATSF variant.

CN 2200 leads L562 as it heads towards Vale in Port Colborne on the CN Humberstone Spur. It was a real excitement first hearing these guys get their clearance down the Humberstone, though it certainly affected the original game plan for the day.

CP 246 rolls off the Hamilton Sub and onto the Cayuga Spur, towards the CN Stamford Sub just south of Brookfield Junction with a pair of bright red EMD SD70ACus. This 246 was very early, getting into Welland around 2:45 PM. I know a whole load of us foamers were out for this one due to the good timing, hoping to see more shots eventually.

21st Century Railroading, CN 3212, A GE ET44AC bought in 2018 leads CN A421 through a pair of 'Vader' signal heads on the Grimsby Sub just east of St. Catharines.

CP 254 runs towards the Welland Yard on the Hamilton Sub with 5 EMD/GMDs upfront. It turned quite a boring day to one of the most memorable catches of 2019!

CP SD70ACu #7010 rolls up the Mactier Sub on the rear of 113, painted in the 'Script' heritage livery. I hope to upload a lot more after a hiatus on this site.

CN C40-8 2120 and BCOL C44-9W 4649 head out of Port Robinson for headroom so they can back their train up onto the mainline and prepare for departure to Buffalo's Seneca yard to interchange with the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad.

NS C93 rolls through Fort Erie towards CN Duff with NS ES44AC #8104, the Lehigh Valley heritage unit, leading long hood forward, seeing 8104 in Fort Erie has some historical significance as the actual Lehigh Valley used to run transfers into both Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. The Ex-Conrail C40-8W trailing was also a nice touch since NS is throwing those in storage.

NS C44-9W #9307 sits in Fort Erie on the Stamford Sub with 2 UPs behind it, with one being a fairly new EMD SD70AH-T4 built in Mexico by Progress Rail (EMD)

VIA 698 sits at the Niagara Falls VIA Station with F40PH-2D #6435 on the front end, this train ran with Canadian rock legends Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, but they got off at St. Catharines while the train continued all the way to Niagara Falls where it would sit for a few hours before heading back to St. Catharines and furthermore, Toronto.

VIA hasn't ran an actual scheduled passenger train with their own equipment to Niagara Falls since October 25, 2012 but they continue to run an excursion train similar to this usually once a year around October/November.

CN A421 rolls through the St. Catharines VIA station on its way to Port Robinson on a boiling Canada Day. Though the leader was repainted it's always fun to see a standard cab EMD, especially a rarity such as the EMD SD70.
