Rolling into Brampton on-time today, VIA Rail’s F40 6412 carefully slows Friday morning’s 84 to a gentle halt at the Downtown GO/VIA station to let on the few passengers who intend of taking the train. Time is 10:22 and it is a cloudy but cool autumn morning.

Backing down the Peel Village Industrial Lead with no more than 10 cars in tow, the power of today’s 559 is seen backing clear the busy 5 lane Clarence st crossing as they head down the spur southbound to service a few industries near Peel Village on Victoria Day Monday. Time was 10:41 and the power is GMTX 2248 and CN 4130

Having just finished its early morning switching duties at the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Brampton, the power of CN L579 is seen paused just west of the Airport Road overpass while awaiting permission from the CN RTC at BIT to run back down the Pullback Siding (against the Yard Tramp using it as a pullback) so they can re-couple on to the loaded autoracks which they pulled out of Chrysler just before dawn (and spotted on one of the yard tracks at BIT). From there they will take the loaded autoracks to Mac Yard and call it a day. Time was 07:25

Switching at the north end of CN BIT on a Sunny Sunday afternoon, GMTX 2163 slowly creeps over Ward Road as it leads a stack of intermodal containers northbound along the pullback siding (aka North Park Spur) just far enough where the tail end of the train (right south of the Queen st overpass) can clear the switch to the unloading tracks and the conductor will than realign the switch so the train can back up and spot the containers on the unloading track. Trailing unit was CN gp9rm 7258 in the 15th Anniversary Logo.

Having just come down from the Guelph Sub and now joining on to the Halton, VIA 84 slowly creeps into Georgetown at about 10:30am and prepares for a stop at the station to let a few people on and off before continuing on towards Toronto.

That’s my ride to the 2019 Elmira Maple Syrup Festival!! <br> <br> Just before 9am on the first Saturday of April (which is usually the day Elmira hosts its annual Maple Syrup Festival), the Waterloo Central Tourist Train is seen paused just north of the Farmers Market Road crossing in North Waterloo and passengers walking down Waterloo Central’s actually new freshly paved platform at the Market who will soon board the train and from there, the train will take them and mysel to the festival!

Having left Union Station moments ago, GO transit MP40-PH 622 pushes its 12 car mixed Bombardier train westbound along the Oakville Sub. In this scene they are running Parallel to the Gardiner Expressway right near Lakeshore and it is a beautiful early spring morning. I always wonder if eventually all the GO Transit Coaches and locomotives will be repainted to the new metrolink scheme but I guess only time will tell. It has to be a good 4 years I’d say where it would be quite common to spot a mixed GO train in Ontario.

Running parallel along the Gardiner Expressway and heading towards bustling Downtown Toronto, VIA Rail wrapped F40-PH 6416 leads a loaded 4 car passenger train eastbound towards Union Station on a beautiful sunny early spring morning! Time was 09:41

Having just cleared the Halton moments ago, GMTX 333 slowly crosses Park st as they continue on through Downtown Brampton with 5 freight cars. Time was 10:52 and this morning they came at a decent time where they did not get stuck behind any trains on the bustling Halton Sub.

Working the north end of CN BIT, CN sd70m-2 8890 has just lifted a long stash of intermodel cars from the loading track and now throttles up and heads north far enough to let the last intermodel car of the consis clear the switch before the conductor re-aligns it to allow the train to be spotted on the departure track of BIT. Time was 17:44 and photo was taken on top of the bustling Queen st overpass.

Nearing its turnaround point at Mount Pleasent GO, GO cab car 366 slowly leads its 6 car mid-day train towards Mount Pleasent GO in the early afternoon hours of a clear winter day. After unloading of the passengers who are commuting home and reloading of the few people who are traveling to Toronto (who will also get the run of the train to themselves) the locomotive which happened to be a F59 will throttle up and proceed back to Union. Time was 13:44

Pushing over the slightest snowhill (previously made by a snowplow) and creating a bit of snow dust, GMTX 333 crosses over Station st in Caledon as it makes its southbound trip to Mississauga on a beautiful sunny winter morning. Time was 09:09

Passing by the Brampton Caledon Airport (aka Brampton Flight Centre and Flying Club) GMTX 333 crosses over McLaughlin road in Caledon as it leads it’s Friday morning freight southbound towards Mississauga. All the snow in this shot which we got in a slight snowfall the other night will be gone by the time the OBRY returns as temperatures raised to about 7°C by early afternoon. This photo was taken at 09:14

After having completed its weekly switching assignments on the Torbram Lead near the Bramalea Business Park, CN 559 is now making its way back to the CN Mainline near Bramalea GO and from there they will throttle up and head to Malport Yard. In this scene they are running parallel down bustling Steels Ave and if you look closely beyond the traffic lights up ahead, you can note that the road goes up and over an overpass and underneath the overpass is where the busy CN Halton Sub lies. We are also very close to Bramalea GO as the GO Station stands exactly on the south side of the Steels Ave overpass and if you look to the south side of Steels near the overpass, you can catch a little glimpse of the GO Station parking lot which was full as usual on a weekday. Time was 13:32

A rather young couple who are out for out for a late morning hike with their dog along the remains of the CNR Beeton Sub are briefly interrupted as the bi-weekly freight movement on the still active CPR line in Inglewood slowly creeps to a halt at the remains of the Inglewood Station. The train was slowing to a halt because the crew made a brief stop at the Inglewood Village Store to grab themselves a coffee before continuing on northbound towards Orangeville. Time was 11:26 and right behind me stands the McLaughlin road crossing which happens to be the main road that runs through the small town of Inglewood.

VIA train 87 flys by the GEXR yard at Lancaster st as it makes its way eastbound towards Stratford and is preparing for a stop at the station. Lead unit was F40-PH 6456 and time was 19:10

South Simcoe Railway’s Historic GE 70 Ton switcher known as SSR 703 leads the famous Santa Claws Express Train northbound towards Beeton through the Scenic Beeton Creek Valley near Beeton ON. In this scene they are crossing over a rural crossing known as 7th line, nearing its turn-around point in Beeton and the CP Mactier Sub lies only a few hundred paces to the south! Time was 11:57 <br> Merry Christmas to all! Hope the young children on this train all got what they wanted!!

The late evening hours on the night of the Summer Solstice in North Waterloo find GEXR 584 creeping slowly north on the Waterloo Spur towards Elmira with three tank cars. They are passing by the St Jacobs Market and right behind me on the east side of the tracks lies the Max’s Sports World facilitate where Waterloo Central hopes to add a new stop for their tourist train in 2019! <br> Glad I got this shot! As of this posting (December 2018), the Waterloo Region is said to have resonantly acquired all 14 LRVs for it’s LRT system and now the LRT is entering its serious stages of testing as the region hopes to have it open and ready for service in Spring 2019. Due to the fact that 3 miles of the Light Rail Transit route is shared with the Waterloo Spur, all freight traffic on the Waterloo Spur is now permanently restricted to run northbound between 23:00 and 24:00 and southbound between 03:00 and 04:00 due to the intensity of the Light Rail service during the day. With that, the chances of ever catching a freight on the Waterloo Spur in any type of daylight are now next to impossible. Time was 20:45
