In for a checkup: SOR employees fire up CEFX 2014 and move her into the old ex-CN shop for some minor running maintenance. Sister 2019 is a bit worse off, sitting dead sans hood and main generator. Also on the next track over is ex-CN GP40-2W 9431 and RLK 4003, which on the property a couple of days earlier from the CBNS.

So long; With CP's recent decision to divest themselves of their SD9043MAC fleet, I feel fortunate to have a handful of shots of them. Here we see CP 441 starting west through London. The train is crossing Waterloo and Pall Mall streets, creating traffic chaos for most of the old north area of London. CP 441 always seemed to have something neat in the consist, and not uncommon were the SD90's; in fact, they seemed to be favourable leaders, as every time I saw one, it was leading (lucky for me!)

Perspective: Here we see CN L509 pulling into the yard at London the day after the four-day "Snowmageddon" storm dumped almost 120cm of snow on the city. The sky has cleared, and most of the streets are cleared, giving me the unusual opportunity to shoot from on top of a snow pile that was taller than I am. So here I am almost 14 feet above street level, almost level with the nose of CN 2421; while I am not fond of the cold, a well-placed snow pile can yield a neat photo op!

CN L562, CN 8023 South, cherrypicks a few loads out of the Abitibi paper plant interchange yard on what's left of the Thorold Spur. In addition to exchanging cars for the paper plant, the yard is used to store QTTX heavy duty flatcars along with a few other oddball pieces of equipment (an old CN slabside hopper is partially visible on the left side of the photo). After lifting five outbound loads, the crew made their way back to Port Robinson for lunch and ice cream.

It's just after 7:30 am as we see a westbound GO deadhead movement fly through Bronte station en route Burlington to pick up more morning commuters. Four minutes after this train there was another westbound deadhead movement on the same track; in the span of about 15 minutes, there were four GO's and two VIA's. Not bad for train watching on the way to work!
