Lightning strikes twice, no pun intended with the weather today either. Since GTW 6420 visited Hamilton earlier this summer, CN decided to throw 5894 into the power pool in Stuart Street. After striking out a few days in a row, 5894 after switching the industry South of Bunge, pulls forward and shoved into Bunge itself for quite some time. All in all, a great day, next time I hope the weather plays ball.

Via 6414 screams around the bend at Lovekin on a picture perfect day. Already Fall's colours are starting to show out East and with the cooler weather prevailing this week, more are bound to show soon.

3018 is wasting zero time working back towards London, however, having to meet another Eastbound in the siding at Innerkip and work Woodstock still, the day is far from done. 3018 has been sitting in Toronto since the end of July, hopefully it will be sent out on a local in Southern Ontario again at some point.

Not exactly something you see every day. Digging through my old laptop in hopes of finding lost images, to no real success. I found these old shots of this MOW crane and old flat car working West towards Port Hope. Never saw this kind of move again. The overgrown codeline pole was a nice touch.

Rail Link's paint schemes never did much for me in the sense of photography, to me it just looked like another engine. On this day, 4003 is seen moving about Stuart Street Yard, taken from the old overpass. To my surprise, this is the only shot I have of this old SP unit.

Finally got 3054 leading on a perfect winter day. Its these kind of winter days that I love so much, no wind, snow, blue sky for miles. I tried to give chase to the daily WB GEXR train to Stratford. By the time I even got out of Georgetown, he was long gone.

with 247's power being changed up from the rather bland GE power, I thought I would finally head out to shoot it. Pictured here, 247 really begins to pick up some steam passing the 4th Concession just North of Waterdown.

CN 1444 leads the charge East with two GMD1's and GATX trailing. The sun came out at just the right moment after being overcast for a solid two hours. Surprising, looking at 1444's frame and comparing it to the other GMD1, something isn't looking right.

CP 6045 leads this years spray train down the Galt sub towards London, where after a quick crew change they continue to Windsor. 6045 put on an amazing chase this year, however a lot of the shots that I got were a " set up, get your shots and run like hell "

Cooler days ahead! Personally, I am over Summer and counting the days where I can welcome the return of snow. Soo 6035 sits at the West end of GUE waiting to dump track just West of Milton, continuing down to Hamilton later in the day. Does anyone know how far this consist went?

I got a bit dirty for this shot, but I'll take it. Waiting for a better half of the day for job 2 to finish switching the lower yard, finally proceeding down to Owen Corning. The evening light was fading fast as building towering cumulus began to block the sun. Seeing something as simple as generic switching, servicing customers, is a wonderful change of pace from watching mainline freight.

I may not have been out for the last stand of OSR this past weekend, but I made sure to get out and catch the last days of MLW and old EMD power up at Guelph. 1591 spent alot of time working the lower yard this day in Guelph before finally going over to Owen Corning.

No hiding where this is, GTW 6420 takes its first trip down the Grimsby for its morning work in the hole. After driving the length of the industries twice over trying to find the morning job, 6420 happened to magically materialize when I came back to Stuart street.

Ill be on the GTW bandwagon for a while.

GTW 6420 pauses under a clear sky while making a lift of AIM cars this evening. Our hopes of catching them leaving the pier in good light fell short, but having driven down already, I didn't want to go home empty handed. After a rather short chase ( more of a slow drive ) to Hobson Rd and back, 6420 paused just long enough to get four shots off before heading back to Stuart.

GTW 6420 crosses over Birch avenue on its way back from Stelco to Stuart completing their mornings work. Looking back at these makes me wish for cooler temperatures, running all day chasing them in 30+ degrees makes long for fall.

GTW pushes down into US Steel's GLW plant in Detroi... Just my luck that GTW 6420 was added to the yard power in Hamilton on the 20th. After what seemed to be a morning of driving around the East end of Hamilton trying to find the morning job, I wound up back at Stuart street. Just my luck this untouched GP40 was added in front of the two other GP9s to go down into the hole. After watching them bring coils past Parkdale, I was almost certain they would push down into Stelco at some point. 2020 is by far my best year of foaming to date, more to come! Thank you to the other guys out there who gave me a heads up, you know who you are.

CN's rebuilt RDC track inspection car 1501 heads down the Hagersville sub on a perfect March morning. Doing some research on 1501's history, a wonderful article was done by a gentleman named Steve Boyko about 1501's past.( link here https://blog.traingeek.ca/2016/08/cn-1501-finally.html)

" CN 1501 was originally a CN RDC-1, labelled D-108, built in 1958 for passenger service. As an RDC-1 it had coach seats only. All RDCs, except for the RDC-5/9, have two diesel engines driving the wheels, so they are self-propelled and have operator controls at each end.

D-108 was renumbered to CN 6108 in March 1969, then became VIA 6108 in March 1978. I'm not sure when CN acquired it from VIA but it was rebuilt into a rail test vehicle and was in service as CN 15016 in 2010. I heard it was fairly quickly renumbered to CN 1501 when it was realized that CN's dispatching software only accepted four digits for a locomotive number "

I may be too young to have witness the rise and fall of the RDC, but 1501 is good enough for me.

CN 5716 leads one of many delayed trains East on this very busy day. 310 the day prior had picked a switch and put a few autos on the ground just East of Trenton ( Belleville I believe ). Im guessing the switch is destined to be the replacement for whatever was damaged during the derailment.

This day I still have written down, 38 trains on the Kingston, not including CP and Via, a personal record I will never beat.
