CN 9472,2031 with MEC 256, B&M 258, 263 dead in tow wb just about to duck under Durham 23 the Ajax, Whitby boarder. Destination of the last three units is unknown. Note the first two cars next to the units. A snow fence multi and a depressed flat carrying a big metal zero of some type. This location is now a total mess at this time. A new bridge for Durham 23 and a new interchange for the 412 ? to connect to the 407 extension.

Do you recognize this location ? CN EB 318 taken from the Hopkins street overpass. March 1989. Compare this view to recently posted shots at this location. In the back ground is Victoria street, still a level crossing and the spur track to Superior propane is also viable. To the right of the two class units is what was called a pole line in them days. What a difference 26 years makes.

A small group of bystanders has gathered to watch rail cars of coal being unloaded from the car ferry Ashtabula. A common site in the small cottage town on the shores of Lake Erie. Coal arrived from the US to be used at CP facilities across Ontario. The 888 a D10 style locomotive would switch out the loads while the Port Burwell way freight would take the cars north. A lengthy process being that only a dozen cars could be taken at a time to Ostrander where the train would be marshaled together, because of the grades out of Port Burwell.

Via FPA4, 6774 train 83 departing Union station . From Toronto Terminal railway track-age to CN Oakville , then Weston carrying over to the Halton and finely by Georgetown onto the Guelph sub to Kitchener and London. A scene carried out several times a day in 1984. A nice prototype Rapido model train.

Sitting on the diamond, the crew of CPR extra north 886 have been requested to pose for a photograph.A tradition in the steam era. Just delivered from GMD in London. BN 7207, 7206, and 7208 sit on the stores track by the Quebec street roundhouse. GMDD was given the work to build a number of BN SD40-2,s because of the backlog at EMD Lagrange.

Last move of the shift for the midnight engine attendants was to turn the sand car and dayshift would spot it at the sand towers for unloading, but a series of events lead the car to slowly roll off the turntable. Upon investigation the employees where cleared of any mistakes and no actions taken against them. Here the truck is being removed so a hi rail crane can lift the car.

After starting in the early hours, the crew of the plow extra is calling it a day as the sun fades away fast to the west. But it was not to be as the plow would derail on a broken rail about a mile north. Cold and hungry after chasing the plow all day, we never did hear the out come.

Seen from a pile of old tailings of the former brick works to the west of Milton. CP train 923 starts its climb along the Niagara escarpment. . The GP9 trailing was headed to London for yard service.

A single GP9 easily handles its roadrailer train down the escarpment on its way to Lambton yard. Still one has to wonder why CP lost or gave up this train to CN.
