An FPA-4 and 2 GM B units roll 11 cars west. My Brother's photo turned out better than mine. I was shooting from the opposite side of the train. My shot had some brush in the way.

As the westbound Super Continental gets serviced, a porter takes a break. A photo by my Mother of my Brother and I heading up past the escaping steam to take a look at the motive power. The rounded window on the car in the foreground gives away the cars Milwaukee Road heritage.

Before operations began on the South Simcoe railway the equipment was stored close to Mill street. The last time I had seen the equipment it was stored near the LCBO warehouse in Toronto back in 1981. Having ridden behind 136 & 1057 in the 70's it was great to see them again.

N 4135 has just crossed Bayfield Street with a single tank car bound for Stepan Canada in Longford Mills. This portion of the Newmarket Sub was lifted in 1996. Longford Mills is now serviced out of Huntsville and Wayne Shaw gets to take photos of it. One nice thing about the Newmarket Sub wrapping around Kempenfelt Bay was that if you heard a train you usually had time to get to a place to see it. My Blue 86 Honda Civic is to the right of the train, so I must have made a quick trip from the office. With the exception of the condo building, everything has changed.

Engine 1531 is about to be lifted and placed on a flatbed trailer for its journey to the Simcoe County Museum. The engine and Caboose 79374 were relocated to allow the City of Barrie to replace a watermain and relocate Lakeshore Drive on to the former Newmarket Sub right of way.The rails of the Newmarket Sub between Barrie and Rama were lifted in the fall of 1996. The new road should be done in 2016.

Forgotten but endangered. This Telltale served to warn riders on cars approaching the bridge over Bathurst Street.The spur it was on ran from the CPR Fez City yard towards the Canada Malting Elevator.

Outposting. Not something you see too often during the current management regime. Back in 2012 this pair of units was working a rail train and would tie up at Midhurst. Not much happens at Midhurst any more apart from OCS gondolas or an occasional bad order set out.

Pick a track. When the Allandale Waterfront station was built the Barrie-Collingwood line to Innisfil was moved closer to Gowan Ave. The chances of seeing a BCRY train adjacent a GO train would be pretty slim.

1057 developed a running gear problem on an excursion to Havelock. Repairs were made and the excursion was short turned on the wye at Dranoel. Prior to returning a runpast was done on this S curve. We were waiting in Peterborough for the train and drove out when we heard of the problem. This photo was likely taken by my mother. I'm standing to the right of my dad in the plaid jacket

The southbound Canadian passes the UCRS "Huronia Limited" excursion in the siding At Carley. Two CN FPA-4's pulled the train over the Mactier Sub to Medonte, branching off onto the remnant of the Port McNicoll sub and then on the CN Midland sub, stopping at the Hoggs Bay trestle. The excursion was running late, so seeing the Canadian was a bonus.
