After a trip to the Farmers Market, I decided to check to see if any trains before heading home. Sure enough, the green signal was shining. About 15 minutes later, CN 331 rolls through, with much to my surprise, an old livery CSX engine. I didn't see anything about it on FPON so it was a nice surprise to see. This is one of the longest 331's I've seen in a few months, with it being about 4 minutes long. Most 331's lately have been short trains spanning about a minute to 2 minutes long.

As I was waiting for the CN 331 that never showed up, The Maple Leaf darts through the Merriton junction. I'm standing in the rarely used , snow covered Merriton yard. The un snowy track closest to me is the Trillium Grantham Spur. The last time this yard was full was in 2012 when CP was on strike, and Trillium needed a place to store the cars that would have been shipped off on CP trains.

Happy Black Friday 2014! Or as I like to call it...Star Wars 7 trailer day! Instead of shopping in crowded malls, I decided to start my weekend foaming early by going down to get the Trillium. In this shot, Trillium 110 is leading a few boxcars down the Grimsby Sub down back to the Thorold Spur. It'll head back to Welland and a few other places before calling it a night. In the background is the now abandon Townline Spur.

Today wasn't my favorite day of foaming. While biking back from the Grantham, I broke my bike and injured my foot pretty well. In this photo, TR 110 is servicing the WP Warehouse.

While heading over to my spot at the Junction to get CN330, I spot a very uncommon late Trillium move. In this spot, TR 110 is parked at the Merriton yard for the night, as the crew wait for a cab. Unfortunately the Trillium was going to service the scrap yard along the old, mostly abandon CN Thorold Spur, which is pretty uncommon. I haven't photographed it servicing the yard in 2 years. Off camera is about 4 gondolas...seeing all this parked in the yard felt nostalgic to back when CN used this as a freight yard.

Trillium 110 is heading back to Merritton with a few cars after servicing some industries. Infront of my lies a diamond. The track that is closest to TR 110 is the Lakeshore Spur, which most of the trackage was removed in 2006-ish, and the other track I believe is now abandon.

While driving out to catch the rare Amtrak 189 "Big Game" unit, I notice it's already at the station, so I get to the nearest location and get ready to shoot. I think this would be a great location in the fall when the leafs start changing colour.

With all the warm weather we've had, here's a cold shot. I thought my fingers were going to fall off while taking this. In this winter scene, AmTrak 837 is preparing to leave the St.Catharines station, on it's way to Niagara Falls.

Trillium 110 sits lifeless along Track MM60. At this time, I have no clue why it's sitting here. Trillium usually transfers at Merriton in late morning, early afternoon but this photo was taken at 6:57pm. I have a feeling maybe part of the track on the Thorold Spur got washout-ed a bit but I have no clue. Anyone with information care to share? This shot was almost impossible to get without the brush so please excuse it

It's a cold New Years Eve Morning, and the Amtrak Maple Leaf runs the route back from Toronto for the last time in 2013. It's heading state side to eventually end up in New York City. This is also the first shot taken with my new Nikon7000.

GO 653 crosses the Welland Canal en route to the St Catharines station. In the background you can see a Freighter that passed about 20 minutes before.
