![I set out on quite a journey yesterday. 4 hours from Ottawa to Sherbrooke, QC to catch the last of the CMQs on home rails. To my disappointment I saw a post the previous day that 3817 had been lifted and sent back to Montreal. Not wanting to waste a trip I planned out about a week in advance I still made the journey. (With only 15 minutes to spare) To my surprise it had been replaced with another geep. CP 3015 had followed me after being used in Smiths Falls. It has only a couple months of service since being rebuilt in the states.
Here G22 waits on CP 223 to depart before heading to Megantic.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/CP-3015-3-200x150.jpg)

![I was on my way after catching CN 327 with its usual CSX power at Les, Cedres and headed south to catch it at the lift bridge at Valleyfield. After a short drive I looked over while I was on the bridge and to my surprise saw a solo GP38-2 slowly pulling about a dozen or so cars south. I then stepped on the gas and started a chase.
Here I made it to a small farming town of Huntingdon where the tracks cut the small town in half. This would be the second to last spot as I headed back north for my original catch. To my dismay it had been delayed a couple hours by the "local". By the time it passed clouds had come over and a storm was approaching. Alas it was still a good surprise catch and chase.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/CSX-2788-200x150.jpg)

![After chasing CN 123 from Coteau, QC we finally made it to Brockville just after sunset with just enough light. Taking the lead is a veteran Illinois Central SD70. ![NS 1083 is tied down and idles away on the tail of an eastbound mixed freight after arriving earlier in the day. We have noticed trains getting tied down to be getting more common recently. ![With the golden hour sunlight I've come to crave as a photographer running out and waiting an extra hour than normal I became desperate hoping to hear a horn in the distance. Just before sunset I heard the rumble and saw the headlights down the line. A long and slow 133 (formerly 143) made its way past milepost 110 of the Winchester sub. With only the solo unit and 102 cars it finally made sense why it was late. After passing it was only 10 minutes till sunset when the light finally ran out. Too close for comfort.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/CP-8732-200x150.jpg)

![When I got the report that IC 1029 was leading CN M369 out of Montreal I almost couldn't believe it. This is one of only a handful of Illinois Central SD70's still left in the original paint. It left in the late afternoon so I had to wait a couple hours for it to be shootable stopped in the Belleville via station for a crew change. What makes this more interesting is that it made the trip from Montreal to Toronto all without the use of a horn. In fact we're thinking it was stolen when this unit was previously in the states.](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/IC-1029-200x150.jpg)

![CP 651 was the first train to blast through the foot of snow on the Belleville sub this afternoon. Definitely a spectacle to watch it pass. Here it is passing MP34.
Our laneway wasn't plowed at the time so I had to hike about 5km to get to the tracks. I'd say it was worth it](http://www.railpictures.ca/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/CP-651-6-200x150.jpg)
