LLPX 2236 has no trouble keeping off the grass as a meeting of General Motors products at 39 Crimea St in Guelph which once formed part of the Fergus subdivision and was a fairly busy mainline. Railways and Houses have close proximity to each other in various locales around the country - and this is no exception. From 1969 to approx 1974 80 car oil trains passed this very spot almost daily on their journey from Montreal, Toronto, Guelph, Palmerston, Southampton and ultimately at the Bruce Nuclear facility at Douglas Point. Passenger trains also passed this spot ending with RDC's in 1970. The home dates to approx 1900. Anyone with photos of these oil or passenger trains up the Bruce Branches?

  1. I was looking at Google Satellite wondering how the crossing was protected as I couldn’t see gates/flashers or even cross bucks in the shot. In checking street view there they are, on the opposite sides of the street! I thought I was on a British street view. Great shot.

  2. Here we see another home where the family dog is having a nervous breakdown.

  3. This house is now for sale

  4. Thanks for the kind comments gents :)
